Detailed account of dispute with Edwards, including accusations made against him and his response to these; decision to leave Mabotsa with Edwards in charge and to begin a new mission with the Bakwain [baKwena] under Sechele, about 40 miles N.N.E. of Mabotsa; describes conversations with and questions posed by Sechele, his learning of the alphabet and issues surrounding the position of his wives should he become a Christian; building of new dwelling house; work of Mrs Livingstone [Mary Livingstone] with a "native teacher" at Mabotsa during her husband's visits to the town of Sechele; mentions Paul, "a deacon of the Church at Kuruman" and his evangelical work in the Interior; refers to the death of Chief Bube [Bubi, chief of a portion of the baKwena, accidentally killed by an explosion of gunpowder in August 1845] and the dispersion of his people; decision to take up temporary residence at Chonuane [Chonwane] and plans for regular itinerancy to the people Eastward of the new station; refers to Mokoteri [Mokotedi] and his inability to accommodate the wishes of the directors in respect to this young man due to circumstances.
