Livingstone reports on his recovery following a lion attack earlier in the same year, which broke his arm; Bakhatla [baKgatla] removing from their former location to the spot in which the missionaries now reside [Mabotsa - see letter 26]; propose to build a house to serve as a school and meeting-house; advantages of evangelising in a less densely populated region through frequent addresses and appeals to individuals; difficulties of conversion amongst the Bechuanas and Livingstone's view of the people and their traditional beliefs; comparison of Bakhatla and inhabitants around Lattakoo; influence of the Gospel in the Kuruman district; gives account of Mebaloe [Mebalwe Molehane], who was also wounded in the lion attack, and visits to surrounding villages with Edwards [Rogers Edwards] and Livingstone to introduce him to his work; expresses his desire to employ more such agents but the practical difficulties in achieving this.
