She has been involved in oral history and research into women and Partition. She was the founder of Women's Action Forum and Director of Applied Socio-Economic Research (ASR) Resource Center for Women, a socialist-feminist cultural organization. Khan is a member of the Pakistan-India People’s Forum for Peace and Democracy. She has been involved in oral history and research into women and Partition.
