Admin history: Sardar Abdul Qayum Khan was a prominent member of the Muslim Conference in Kashmir and involved in organising fighting in Poonch area during 1947. He was later a leading figure in the All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference and Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir (Pakistan-administered Kashmir) (until 1996).
