Admin history: Khushwant Singh was an Indian writer, journalist and lawyer. He was born in Hadali, Punjab [in modern-day Pakistan] in a Sikh family. He was educated at Government College, Lahore, St. Stephen's College, Delhi and King's College, University of London. He trained as a barrister-at-law at the Inner Temple, London and subsequently returned to British controlled India to practice in Lahore.
