Letter from Richard Elliot, 19 June 1809, Tobago
Looks forward to Purkis’ arrival, thanks for sending Mrs. Elliot who arrived January 24. Treated with respect by all. Suggested that Council give him a salary. Part only of Presbyterian salary received, but American ships with flour and lumber should bring prices down.
