Side one: meeting Akiko and Watanabe Kenso; rescuing Okatu; a fire in the town and the saving of Meiko San's house; Mrs Tatsuji and Kosuki Macki. The transcript for this side also includes extracts from prayer letters and letters from Janet to Mary Milner (Oka San), which make reference to Joy Holdcroft.
