Summary: Correspondence and papers of William Mackinnon, dated 1855-1893, relating to miscellaneous commercial matters and business concerns. Includes correspondence with trading partners, accountants, financial and legal advisers, and concerns the investment of his funds in shares and bonds, American railway securities and property in Australia and Florida. Correspondence includes that with Macleod Wylie (1865-1868, 1879-1881), a long-term friend and private consultant to Mackinnon in the City of Glasgow Bank legal case.
