scb_admin_history The Presbyteries of the Presbyterian Church of England consisted of Berwick, Birmingham, Carlisle, Durham, Liverpool, LOndon North, LOndon South, Manchester, Newcastle, South Coast, Yorkshire. According to the PCE's home organisation plan ( Blue Book for 1921, p. 820) each Presbytery was recommended "To appoint a Committee on Foreign Missions of which the Correspondent shall be Convener with power to associate men or women from each Congregation, not necessarily members of Presbytery or Office-bearers." Giving was arranged under five headings: General, Juvenile, Young Peoples', Self-Denial and WMA". During the 1920s and 1930s there was a decline in contributions from local congregations amounting in 1933 to £5000 over the amount contributed in 1927. An annual conference between the Home Base Committee and the Presbyterial Foreign Mission Conveners became a regular feature. Some of the minutes of such conferences are included in the files.
