Admin history: Annada Shankar Ray was a Bengali poet and essayist. He was born in 1904 in Dhenkanal, Bihar and Orissa province [Odisha], India. He was educated at Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, India. He worked as a Indian Civil Service officer (1927-1951). Ray was a prominent poet and essayist in Oriya and Bengali. He was the author of 'Pathe Prabase', a diary of his trip to Europe in 1931.
