scb_admin_history Kuldip Nayer, a columnist, peace activist and former diplomat. He was born in Sialkot, Punjab on the 14th August 1923. In August 1947, Nayer travelled by foot from Sialkot, Pakistan to the Indian border. He worked as Urdu press reporter and was editor of 'Indian Express'. Nayer was appointed High Commissioner to Great Britain in 1990 and was a member of India's delegation to the United Nations in 1996. In 1997, he was nominated to the upper house of Indian Parliament. He is a human rights activist leading advocate of improved Indian relations with Pakistan.
