This man, barely visible in the centre, is a Nyishi porter building a temporary bridge over the Pangen River, leading to the Nyishi settlement of Pei : this bridge was built in late November 1944, during Christoph von Fürer-Haimendorf's trek from the Apatani valley to Assam.
