Summary: |
This two young Apatani men, standing in a dry paddy field, are from the village of Michi Bamin : they wear the traditional hair style knot with skewers, although the knot is particularly elaborate, string of metal beads on the hair line, series of small earrings, cotton and wool shawl and cane belt visible on the man on the right, : the decoration hanging from one of the hair skewers of the man on the left, however, is the principal reason for this photograph : the metal key, two rows of ceramic beads and a pair of jungle cat teeth, were a fashion innovation. |
