Summary: This portrait of a Nyishi man was taken near Christoph von Fürer-Haimendorf's camp site : He wears the typical cane hat, with hornbill feather, elaborately dressed hair knot and metal string of beads on the hair line : He also carries a bamboo quiver, with cane-mesh lid : all of this might be worn or carried by an Apatani man, too, although the hair knot would be slightly different : Only the wooden ear plug, with its dangling piece of metal, is distinctly Nyishi or Hill Miri.
