Summary: Diary of Michael Gillingham ['MG'], employee of John Sparks Ltd, dealer in Chinese art. Printed diary for the year 1978, used by Gillingham as an appointment book, aide mémoire and message book. It records appointments of Gillingham, including meetings with clients and suppliers, auction sales, and exhibitions; notes on meetings with clients; and messages taken by other employees for Gillingham following visits and telephone calls to the company's offices. Entries made by a number of different individuals, including Gillingham. The diary includes business cards, notes, and invoices affixed to pages. It contains a handwritten list 'Objects for 1979 Exhibition on last page. Ruled paper. One page per day. Handwritten. 1 volume. Red cloth cover, with 'M. Gillingham' handwritten on inside front endpaper and 'dataday Diary 1978' printed on front cover.
