Summary: Photograph album of John Sparks Ltd, dealer in Chinese art (London) - containing 143 black and white studio photographic prints of Chinese and East Asian ceramic artworks and antiques. Includes images of Chinese Porcelain and stoneware, including Canton ware, Chinese export porcelain, Qingbai ware, Dehua ware or Blanc de Chine, Fujian ware, Celadon ware, Yixing ware, Tang burial ware, earthenware and Tenmoku ware (Japan). Decorative forms include blue and white pottery, famille rose and famille verte. Objects date from Qing (Qianlong, Kangxi, Yongzheng periods), Ming (Wanli, Zhengde periods), Sung, Tang dynasties. Shapes include vases, bottles, dishes, libation cups, human and animal figurines, snuff bottles, headrests, ewers and incense burners. Prints include typescript annotations, some have handwritten annotations indicating that the artwork was exhibited at the Centennial Marco Polo exhibition, 7th, 1954 Venice, Italy. 4 pages contain caption but no print. 1 volume. 143 pp. (loose).
