Admin history: (capital of Oudh, Mohammedan) In 1878, Elizabeth Bielby opened Lucknow Medical Mission with her sister, Alice. Alice died almost immediately, and Elizabeth fell seriously ill with typhoid fever. (see the Administrative History, Medical care of women and girls re her interview with the Marahani.) In 1881, she came back to England for further training, and returned as a fully qualified doctor to Lahore.
