Henry Crisp was born in Hertford, England in 1803. He studied at the Missionary College at Hoxton and was ordained in in 1827. He was accepted for service in India by the London Missionary Society, married Eliza Steffe Crisp in the same year and arrived in Madras, India in October 1827. He was posted to Salem in what is now Tamil Nadu. Eliza Crisp died in May 1829 aged 24. Henry Crisp died in October 1831. |
