Outward voyage, 1 Wesleyan and 2 Moravian Brethren on Barbados, only met the first. Came on from Barbados with fleet. His reception by Governor to whom he had letter of introduction. Account of his work: Attending 7 Estates, 4 belong to Robley and 2 to Hamilton, while 1 is managed by Crookes. Attitude of the two first to the religious instruction of their enslaved populations. Is living on one of Robley’s Estates, but will not continue - reasons. Details cost of setting up house. Reasons for preaching in Scarborough. Wants to start a Scotch Church as base and support for Mission. Hopes for help from Mr. Lyons, lawyer and Mr. Crooks. Asks guidance on money matters. Wants Mrs Elliot to come out.
