description Intention to proceed Westwards now that the rains have commenced; has changed his mind re the route to take - had thought to follow the trail of the Mambari but the taking of some slaves by them has provoked the Makololo, and does not wish other tribes along the route to "believe me to be of the same clan" (i.e. a slaver); intends to go up the river Leeambye and ascend the Leeba to the Balonda [baLunda] people, then proceed Westward by land; Sekeltu has lent his canoe and four riding oxen; leaves "in company with Borotse people alone", the people brought from Kuruman having been sent back; hopes to establish the gospel in the region; encloses a sketch of the waterways in the region, informed by local knowledge; refers to a possible path to the East Coast, in case he is "cut off".
