Advises of the departure of Mrs Livingstone and children on board the 'Trafalgar', bound for London [Mrs Livingstone arrived in England on 23 June 1852]; ponders the situation faced by misionary children, including his own; intends to leave in the next week; mourns over "the defection of Sechele", questioning what he has heard about the "plunder" of an Englishman called Moyle by Sechele; believes Sechele to be "an apostate", but adds "never did man bid fairer to enter into for years to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven than he"; predicts no success in that region while Inglis and Edwards are their missionaries.
