Summary: Journal of Annie French, June - August 1899, describing her visit in the John Williams to the out stations of the Samoan mission. She was accompanied by Ebenezer Cooper and his family. They visited firstly Suva (Fiji Islands), then travelled to Olsenga [Olsega], Fakaofo and Atafu in the Tokelau (Union) group, Nukufetau, Vaitupu and Nanumea in the Ellice group [Tuvalu], Tamana, Onoatoa, Peru [Beru], Nikunau and Arorae in the the Gilbert group [Kiribati] before returning to the Ellice group to visit Nanumanga, Niutao, Nui, Funafuti and Nukulaelae. At each place they received reports from the native pastors, examined the schools, held womens meetings and had many discussions with the people.
