Summary: Journal of Alexander Murray and George Turner, April - June 1845, describing their visit to the out stations of the mission in the John Williams. From Samoa they sailed to Rotumah [Rotuma], Eranan (or Futura) and Anatom where they found the native teachers had been murdered, Tanna, Fate (Sandwich Island), ^Lifu and Mare (Loyalty Islands) and New Caledonia. At these islands they met with the native teachers, landed more teachers, and explored possible locations for new mission stations. Returning to Samoa they called at Tonga (Friendly Islands) meeting with the Methodist missionaries Revs Peter Turner and George Kevern to discuss the removal of the Tongan teachers from Samoa.
