This includes draft of the official "Memorandum on the Proposed School of Oriental Studies in London Submitted by the Earl of Cromer, Chairman of the Oriental Studies Committee", which was to be distributed to various City firms by Sir Montagu Turner, Chairman of the City Executive Committee. Also comprises correspondence about attempts to obtain funding from City Livery Companies, and responses. Scope of studies, including whether such subjects as anthropology or ethnology will be taught. Lord Cromer's illness and resignation as Chairman of the Oriental Studies Committee.
