Summary: Verses of literature perhaps from Ferdowsi's the Shahnameh across 4 columns. Reference to Sikander (Alexander) and Bahman. The injured and bloodied King lies under a parasol with noblemen around him, his crown has been removed. He lies in the arms of another man, who has removed his crown. They carry arrows and several soldiers in all four corners look at them. Most wear helmets. Painting takes up more than half of the page. A few verses at the bottom of the page tell of how his eyes have shut and how he has says let him be, reached the end. Calligraphy on paper. 1 sheet. Dimensions: 260 x 155 mm. Includes two loose notes in Persian and one in Spanish found attached to frame.
