description |
B&W photographic print. 'Two men, one bearded, who are traders from Nepal, having travelled to Wokha, in the Lotha (Lhota) Naga country. Bhotia (Bhutia) (people)s come from the remote Limi valley north of Humla in Nepal, which is isolated from the rest of that country by snow from November to April. They trade in wool, particularly the fine goat's wool known as pashmina. One of these men holds a bundle of raw wool. The other wears a bag over his shoulder. They are both dressed in loose homespun coats.' |
