On his upper arm he wears rings of elephants' tusk (or wooden imitations thereof) cauntlets covered with cowries and a loin cover also covered with cowries. in his hands he holds a plain dao. The photograph was taken in the garden of Mill's bungalow at Mokokchung, where many visitor used to come along.' |
