Summary: Series of diaries kept by Fürer-Haimendorf, which provide a detailed account of his anthropological fieldwork in India, Nepal, Tibet and the Philippines. The early diaries, from 1930s-1940s, were subsequently used by Fürer-Haimendorf and Dr. Michael Yorke for their "re-study" of the tribal groups of Andhra Pradesh, 1976-1980. Diaries kept by Betty Fürer-Haimendorf are included in the series. From 1936-1943 the diaries are in German, and from this point onwards, in English.
