Maitland in Tientsin with news of staff movements, banking and personal affairs; from Smith also of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in Bangkok on his brother's death and attempts to settle his children, with related letters; from Jamieson in Tientsin and Sundius in Foochow with local and personal news; from John R. Purdon of the North China Mission of the Methodist Episcopal Church, on the boys Addis and Aunt Mansfield were supporting and from McLeish with Tientsin news.
