AUGUST Family holiday in Shannanburn; Addis working daily on items sent from London. OCTOBER Offered Knighthood; conferred in November; Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) move to Gracechurch Street premises. NOVEMBER Visits Foreign Office to discuss China policy. 'Grey reluctantly accepts Jordan's policy, which is the negation of all policy.' 8. DECEMBER Addis assisting in attempts to form a silver syndicate to aid Indian monetary problems.
