JUNE Brother William inducted into the living of All Saints, Knightsbridge, London; much work on Tientsin-Peking railway loan business.
JULY Daughter Jean born, 5; negotiating for purchase of new premises for Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) in Gracechurch Street, London.
AUGUST To St. Andrews, for holiday.
SEPTEMBER To Antwerp, for visit to G. Koch and family; to Berlin and Paris for meetings with bankers.
OCTOBER Turns down offer of a managership with the Royal Bank of Scotland.
