Series of correspondence and papers dated 1767-1893, relating to the Balinakill Estate, Argyllshire. Correspondence comprises that between Mackinnon and the staff responsible for the management and upkeep of the Estate, and includes correspondence with the Estate Manager, James Farquharson, dated 1891-1893 in addition to agents, gardeners, the clerk of works and stock foreman.Papers relating to the Estate include those dating from the period when it was owned by the McAlister family. They include legal documents (although no title deeds are included), estate accounts and reports, ledgers of farm accounts including records of `Loup Rentals and Crops' dated 1820-1857, and miscellaneous papers such as a specification of the Balinakill Estate prepared as an advert for its sale in 1838.
