Summary: |
Correspondence with and about the Rev Robert Elder who was appointed to the Hakka mission in 1941. Because of difficulties in entering China Elder spent some time at the EP Mission at Rajshahi in East Bengal before travelling to Chungking and thence to Wukingfu. In December 1944 Elder (and Miss Burt) were evacuated to Kunming in Yunnan province. Elder returned to Wuking-fu in November 1945. Much of the correspondence in the file deals with the situation as a whole rather than as it affected Elder personally. |
