St Andrew's College was established at Selly Oak to train male missionaries for the Baptist Missionary Society, the London Missionary Society, the Methodist Missionary Society snd the Overseas Mission of the Presbyterian Churches of England and Wales. Later on, wives of missionaries also trained at St Andrew's College. In 1966 the Baptist Missionary Society, the Congregational Council for World Mission and the Presbyterian Church Overseas Missions set up St Andrew's Hall to train men and women candidates. [This account is taken from "Selly Oak Colleges" nd but probably 1970-72].
