Admin history: The Scottish Auxiliary was founded in 1853 to support the work of the Presbyterian Church of England's China Mission since the Free Church of Scotland had no mission there. Through this means members were enabled to support missionary work in China. A number of EP missionaries in China were recruited and supported by the Scottish Auxiliary. A considerable amount of money was provided each year (in the 1920s the annual sum ammounted to £2000).
