Martha Saul, née Medhurst, was known affectionately as Toddles. She was married to Robert Powell Saul, a merchant. Mahmoudieh is spelled Mahmoudiah. The steamship Pottinger was named for Sir Henry Pottinger, Colonial Governor of Hong Kong, from 26 June 1843 through 8 May 1844. |
