Subjects: 1) The antipathy of Chinese to foreigners can be overcome by healing them. 2) The urgent need for more male missionaries in China. 3) Arthur disagrees with Hudson Taylor over recruitment policy and regrets that the Brethren are accepting men who have failed in the C.I.M. and subsequently left it. 4) Arthur’s cure for leprosy not yet fully proven: general scepticism over finding any cure for the disease. 5) Pearl so being so restless is a difficult subject to photograph.
