description |
Subjects: 1) At Colombo the party moved from the Bengal to the Rosetta, a smaller but similar vessel and the missionary party has increased to 15 plus an infant. 2) After an enjoyable trip ashore at Colombo the party cross the Bay of Bengal in choppy seas and some discomfort. 3) At Penang local residents with missionary connections entertain the party most hospitably “Our happiest day since leaving England”. 4) Some Chinese passengers who have come aboard at Penang are for most of the party the first they have met.
