description |
Film strips produced by the London Missionary Society's Visual Education Department, with photographs by Douglas Harman and text by N. Ingram Smith. 'Mission in China' focuses on the new Changchow Union Hospital built in 1947-1949, and includes photographs of Changchow Theological College (used as a temporary hospital in the Second World War), construction of the new hospital, wards, nursing staff, training of nurses, support staff, the operating theatre and work of the hospital chapel. See MS380815/1/3/1/2 for accompanying commentary. 'Ladies of the Light' (no commentary available) apparently focuses on community nursing work.
