Photographs taken during Alexander Sandilands' missionary work in Bechuanaland [Botswana], some loose and some on pages taken from a photograph album. Some were apparently taken at Serowe before the Sandilands' set out for their mission station at Maun; others show incidents on the initial journey from Serowe to Maun in May-June 1927.
Loose photographs:
"Waiting at the Serowe church"; "first Christmas in Africa at Serowe"; view of mission house verandah, Serowe; view from mission house, Serowe; "on the rocks besides the house" (Doris Sandilands); "they are ready to run with the rope that has the water bucket at its end" (apparently view of the well at Mashoro); European group in the bush.
