description Oxford University Press edition of the old and new testaments, 1891. This bible has been extensively annotated by Smith. At the front of the volume is recorded 'Edwin W Smith March 1898' and further marked 'Nanzela, N W Rhodesia'. Smith has commented on significant sections of the text, some of which would have been in preparation for preaching sermons. In the section between the old and new testaments Smith has recorded some brief family information. At the rear of the volume (intermittently from page 200) Smith has created a semon register noting date, text of the bible refered to, location and sometimes additional information (such as language or to whom he preached) from Sept 1895 until Dec 1900.
