Admin history: Rev James Evans (1801-1846) emigrated to Canada in 1822 and became a Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society missionary in 1834. He worked in the Upper Canada District until 1839 when he transferred to the Hudson Bay Company Territories District where he worked until his return to England in 1846.
