Sketch Book 2: Scenes of China include Hunan, Wusan, Ts'z Chiang Shien, views from the I-Chang [Yichang river], particularly its gorge, and the Lukan, Mi-tan, Wu-san and Fung-shian gorges [on the Yangtse River], [18]80.
Sketch Book 3: Scenes of China include Wusu [?Wu Xia] and Tung-ho [?Ta-tung Ho] gorges and Chungking [Chongqing]. Also copied [Alan Robert] Colquhoun's images of Yunnan, the Nestorian tablet at Si-ngan and the tomb of Confucius, [18]80. |
