Expresses opinion of petitioners and Cornish miners in general that the Gospel is 'the means of preserving the Eastern to the Western British Empire'. Adds his opinion, based on 22 years service in India, that the more the Gospel is introduced into India the more 'is in its control over the minds of the Natives'.
