Admin history: Jane Catherine Radcliffe, the daughter of the Rev W J Radcliffe, left England on 8 September 1866 for the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society district of Canton in China to assist in the work of 'training natives for teaching'. She worked at the Girls' Training School in Canton East and also ran women's classes and bible classes.
