scb_admin_history Rev Richard Ridgill (1822-1898) served as a Methodist minister in South Africa from 1845 to 1898, principally in the Cape District. Rev Thomas Laidman Hodgson (1787-1850) served the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society as a missionary in South Africa from 1821 to 1850.
