Cave temple sculpture

These figures have been carved out of rock as part of a temple, itself carved out of one of the many caves at Ellora near Aurangabad. These caves and their religious monuments were created by Hindus, Buddhists and Jains over several centuries, from about 600 to 1000 AD.
