Sculpture in a cave temple at Ellora
This figure of a celestial woman (or apsara) has been carved in relief on a rock face in one of the many caves at Ellora near Aurangabad. These caves and their religious monuments were created by Hindus, Buddhists and Jains over several centuries, from about 600 to 1000 AD.
