This is the summer camp for the Chenchus of Koman Penta, a permanent Chenchu village with eight houses at the time. Some Chenchus, living near the plains, built such temporary settlements in the forest to escape the heat of the summer. The houses in temporary settlements, as seen here, were grass huts that could be put up in two hours. They lack a central pole and consist of grass thatch thrown over a conical structure of sticks. |
