Chenchu funeral ritual
The Chenchu man in the centre has just poured locally distilled liquor on stones placed near the ashes of a man whose corpse was burnt about a month earlier. The women wailed for a few moments, but no words were spoken, according to Christoph von Furer-Haimendorf's notes.
